Crescencia is named after my mother, who taught me to sew and the value of reusing and repairing clothing. The name is a reminder of my roots and the inspiration to give those values new life in the modern consumer world. Through this work, I invite reflection on our habits, the ripple effects of our small choices, and the beauty that arises when creativity meets responsibility. Every piece reflects a practice of conscious making - reimagining remnants, selecting fabrics that are safe for people and the planet, and embracing a slower, more thoughtful way of wearing, making, and living.

About Me

My name is Nadine Demers. I am a mother, artist, environmental scientist, and lifelong learner. An artist at heart, I have never stopped drawing, crafting, and creating. I was formally trained as a painter and worked for many years as an artist before moving into a career in environmental science. Through that work I became aware of the severe effects of wasteful consumption on the environment - which started me on this path to bringing together artistry and environmental stewardship. This journey has opened my eyes to exciting ideas like the fibershed and the role clothes play in our self image. I have also discovered a community of creators and thinkers who inspire me to imagine new possibilities and push the limits of my own creativity. This unique blend of artistry, environmental expertise, and lifelong practice of making, shapes the heart and soul of Crescencia.
