I didn't always have a plan to start a small business. My path has been winding. I started as a painter but then returned to school to become an environmental scientist. I spent many years doing the hard, unglamorous work of cleaning up the mess that others left behind. I saw firsthand the environmental and social impacts that carelessness can have. But even as I worked as a scientist,  I’ve always had a creative life running alongside the science one. For many years, those two parts of me lived in separate rooms. crescencia is where they finally met!

I founded crescencia in September 2024 — named after my mother. She taught me to sew, to fix, to repurpose, to see potential in what otherwise would be thrown out. She gave me the skill, the science gave me the urgency, and the art gave me the language!
